Jakob Klaeson - Tennis Pro Sakonnet Tennis Club

We are pleased to introduce you to our new Head Tennis Professional, Jakob Klaeson. He has extensive experience with both junior and adult programs.  He has been working for several high profile tennis and country clubs here in New England since graduating college.  To say Jakob is an accomplished player is an understatement.  He has an impressive junior career.  He became Sweden’s Singles and Doubles Champion and a member of the Swedish Junior National Team and achieved a ranking of # 2 in his country.  While there, he was vigorously recruited by schools in Europe and North America looking to bolster their own team rosters with world class talent.  He chose to come to the States and play his collegiate tennis for the Division 1 Rebels at the University of Mississippi.  During his college career Jakob achieved an NCAA national ranking of #10 in doubles.  He was also key in helping his team capture an SEC title, an SEC Tournament title, participated in the NCAA Final Four, and was the cornerstone player of the team that was ranked #2 in the NCAA for that season.  During this past summer, he was a Teaching Pro at Sakonnet Golf & Tennis Club in Little Compton, RI.  Prior to Sakonnet, Jakob was the Director of Junior Development at Kingsbury Club in Medfield, MA.  He has worked at Dedham Country and Polo Club and was the Head Professional at Manchester Bath and Tennis in Manchester, MA.  One of Jakob’s strongest attributes is he can teach from a beginner to a professional player and help them to improve any and every aspect of their game.

Don York - Head Tennis Pro Acoaxet Club
